A Guide For A Great Cup Of Chowdah!

Dockside Restaurant-Clam Chowder

Dockside Restaurant-They have locations in Chelsea, Wakefield and two locations in Malden. Prices are very affordable. Very creamy. Cup-$4 Bowl-$5. You can always get a delivery from Dockside Restaurant. Use this link and save $7 off your first order of $15 or more.

Beer Works Chowder With Tabasco

Beer Works-They have two locations in Boston-Fenway and North Station, as well as locations in Lowell, Salem, Hingham, and Framingham. I was surprised to enjoy a premium cup of clam chowder here given the beer focus. While here, might as well order their gigantic nachos too! They have full and half size and both serving sizes will exceed expectations.

The Red Hat-Located at 9 Bowdoin St in Boston. Cup-$3.25 Bowl-$5. Thick and creamy. I tried this one night with a cold beer and was impressed.

The Causeway Restaurant-Located in Gloucester on 78 Essex Ave. I have never had a bad meal at this place. It’s also BYOB so you are saving money right off the bat. No reservation policy. First come, first serve. While here, I would try an order of mussels or steamers. A personal favorite is their fish chowder loaded with fresh fish right off the boat! Portions here are large and you will get your money’s worth.

I always have my chowder with Oyster Crackers. If I do have clam chowder at home, I buy Bar Harbor Chowder which is considered the best canned clam chowder on the market.
